What's in a Name?
The English Disorder, Lorry Driver's Disease, All-day
Breakfast Syndrome, these are just some of the names for
Ovulo Carbonaresis, itself just a regional variant of the
little known Cultural Food Identification Syndrome.
The same disorder that induces British road hauliers to
eat mostly pork products can be linked directly to the
Redneck American suffering from BBB (Beans, Burger, and
Barbecue) and the masses of Germans who constantly crave a
large sausage.
The English Disorder
This name arises from the fact that most recovering
Ovular Carbonarivores will start the long slow road to
recovery by turning to other traditional English
dishes. One dish that is just one step away from the
full breakfast is The Mixed Grill. Indeed this is so
often the first "non morning" dish for OV's that
they commonly refer to as "Methadone on an Oval
Plate" or "Going on the MOP" or "Under
the Grill".
Lorry Drivers Disease
Whilst no more than 9% of OV sufferers have work or
have worked in the road haulage industry, this is still an
abnormally high showing for any given industry, surpassed
only perhpas by the prevalence of anorexia amongst
supermodels.
