The Ovulo Carbonaresis Association of Support Groups

Feeding an OV sufferer almost always places an intolerable financial burden on their family.  Whilst we encourage all OV sufferers to take steps to break their addiction, there is always a time when the only answer is a cooked breakfast or better still a mixed grill.  In order that we may continue to help selected individuals pleas make a donation below.

We guarantee that every penny donated will be spent directly on providing cooked breakfasts for known OV sufferers.

What is OVULO CARBONARESIS?

Simply put an OV suffer feels, for whatever reason, unable to eat any meal other than one closely resembling a full English Breakfast or derived from the principle ingredients of an English Breakfast.

For a long time dismissed throughout the medical profession this condition is finally starting to be recognized by the professional mainstream.   Sufferers are, with 2 notorious exceptions, always male and are tortured by compulsions as strong as any that an anorexic or bulimic undergoes.  Whilst an anorexic may be troubled by a distorted self image of a bloated individual, an OV sufferer feels that eating anything other than a very limited range of foods would make him "less of a man".

The lorry driver's disease (see what's in a name) usually strikes men around the age of 40 to 55 and almost always remains with them for the remainder of their lives.  As the symptoms are not usually life threatening in the short term very little attention is drawn to their plight.  A sufferer, usually with the support of an understanding spouse, may manage to hide his condition for many years, often blaming another illness for their irregular eating habits and tendency to avoid catered occasions rather than own up to this misunderstood disease.

If you feel that you or someone you know may be suffering from this condition then contact us now for further help & information.
